Role Description
This full‑time, on‑site Veterinary Surgeon role is based at our Mansfield location. The Veterinary Surgeon will provide high‑quality medical, surgical, and preventive care to small animals, including consultations, diagnostics, routine and complex surgeries, and follow‑up appointments. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include examining patients, formulating treatment plans, interpreting diagnostic tests, performing neutering and soft tissue procedures, and maintaining detailed clinical records. The role also involves advising clients on preventive care, communicating clearly about treatment options and costs, and supporting nursing and support teams to ensure smooth practice operations. Participation in occasional out‑of‑hours or rota‑based duties may be required, alongside contributing to clinical governance, case discussions, and continuous improvement of standards of care.
Qualifications
- Recognized veterinary degree (e.g., MRCVS or eligible for RCVS registration) and authorization to practice as a Veterinary Surgeon in the UK.
- Demonstrated competence in small animal general practice, including clinical examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, and case management.
- Proficiency in routine surgery and anesthesia, with experience in common soft tissue procedures and a commitment to safe, evidence‑based practice.
- Strong skills in animal handling, welfare, and pain management, with a compassionate approach to patients and clients.
