Are you a hands‑on culinary professional who thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in consistent quality? This role is ideal for someone with strong kitchen experience, a passion for food and drink, and the ability to work collaboratively to maintain high standards across service periods.

The Role: As Chef, you will prepare and present menu dishes to Croeso standards, maintain strict food safety and hygiene practices, and contribute to kitchen organisation and stock control. You will work closely with the kitchen and front‑of‑house teams to ensure timely, consistent delivery of meals, support menu creativity and specials, and help resolve operational challenges during service.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Food preparation and cooking: Produce high‑quality, consistent dishes in line with menu specifications and portion control.
  • Inventory management: Assist with stock control, rotation, receiving deliveries and accurate recording of usage to minimise waste.
  • Health & safety: Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety (including HACCP procedures) and kitchen safety at all times.
  • Customer service: Support front‑of‑house with allergen information and special requests, ensuring a positive dining experience for guests.
  • Problem solving: Respond quickly and calmly to service challenges, adapting processes to maintain service flow and quality.
  • Mixology support: Collaborate with bar colleagues on specials and pairing suggestions; assist with basic cocktail preparation when required.
  • Teamwork and leadership: Work cooperatively with the kitchen team, training and supporting junior staff and helping to maintain a constructive working environment.
  • Creativity: Contribute ideas for specials, seasonal dishes and menu improvements that reflect local sourcing and Croeso values.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven kitchen experience in a busy pub, bistro or restaurant environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with front‑of‑house and management.
  • Good problem‑solving ability and calmness under pressure.
  • Experience of inventory management, stock control and basic ordering.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and commitment to high hygiene practices.
  • Creativity in menu development and an eye for presentation and detail.
  • Adaptability to changing service demands and willingness to support the team across duties.
  • Enjoyment of delivering excellent customer experiences and working as a team player.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Staff discounts across Croeso Pubs venues.
  • Opportunities for development and progression within the group.
  • Supportive, friendly working environment with regular local events.
  • Ongoing training to develop culinary, supervisory and product skills.
