We’re seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team, deliver exceptional dishes, and help shape the culinary offer at one of the city’s most beloved venues.

As Head Chef at The Daffodil, you will be responsible for running a busy, high-quality kitchen service across day and evening trade. You’ll lead a team, manage stock and costs, devise menus that reflect our personality, and ensure every plate that leaves the pass meets our standards. This role suits an organised, creative operator who thrives under pressure and values great teamwork.

Main Responsibilities – Kitchen Leadership, Menu Development & Standards
  • Lead and motivate the kitchen brigade to deliver consistently excellent food and service during all shifts.
  • Develop, cost and implement menus that reflect The Daffodil’s style and appeal to a diverse customer base.
  • Oversee inventory management, ordering and stock control to maintain profitability and reduce waste.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation at all times.
  • Work closely with front‑of‑house to ensure smooth service, effective communication and excellent customer experience.
  • Coach, train and develop kitchen staff, supporting progression and creating a collaborative team culture.
  • Take responsibility for rota planning, labour control and supporting the management team with operational decisions.
  • Contribute to special events, seasonal offers and new product development including bespoke menus and drinks pairings.
