About The Discovery: The Discovery is looking for an experienced, confident, sales driven individual to join our growing team! Applicants must be experienced in all roles of hospitality from bartender to Deputy Manager. The Discovery strives to be the best community pub in the city. From showing all Live Sport on our big screens, to renowned Sunday lunches, with Live music as well as other activities & events. The Discovery is an historic venue in the Cyncoed/Lakeside area of Cardiff. We welcome all people and aim to be a destination pub in the local area.
What’s the Role? As a Deputy GM at The Discovery, you will be expected to demonstrate the below qualities with ease and finesse:
- Extensive cash management
- Full understanding of scene setting within a venue
- Delegatory and team leader experience
- Ambition and experience in driving sales
- Able to run the business when the General Manager is not present
- Able to strive under pressure and lead a team of individuals
- Shift and rota planning with a keen eye for control of wage percentages
- Excellent stock control and a full understanding of the importance of GP within the business
- Cocktail making experience and full competency in training new starters and staff alike
- Positive input into the menu building process
- Set great examples of leadership to the supervisor team as well as coach them on how to be better in their roles
- Maintain a positive morale within the team by providing constructive criticism, promoting a healthy work environment and helping them to the best of your ability within your role
