Daffodil is one of Cardiff's leading gastro pubs, known for cooking everything fresh, celebrating Welsh produce, and serving some of the city's best roasts. We're now looking for a driven, hands-on Head Chef to lead the kitchen and help take the venue to the next level.

About the Role

We're looking for a chef who can balance creativity with consistency - someone who loves seasonal cooking, can manage a busy fresh-food kitchen, and enjoys developing a team. You'll have the freedom to shape weekly specials, influence menu development, and work with quality local suppliers.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading a fresh-food kitchen with high standards and a positive culture
  • Delivering consistent quality across lunch, dinner, and Sunday service
  • Creating weekly specials and contributing to seasonal menu changes
  • Managing GP, ordering, stock, and kitchen systems
  • Training, motivating, and developing the team
  • Ensuring food safety, compliance, and smooth day-to-day operations

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or a Senior Sous ready to step up
  • Strong understanding of fresh, seasonal cooking
  • Confident with GP, ordering, and kitchen management
  • Calm, organised, and able to lead from the front
