As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for a Summer Student to join our team at Cowick on a temporary summer placement. You will be responsible for supporting our Life Sciences Sustainability team on internal and external projects and engagement to progress sustainability topics for Croda and our customers.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Studying degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Geography, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Agriculture, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related fields
  • Keen interest in sustainability topics and what they mean for sustainable chemical manufacture and supply
  • Foundational knowledge and understanding of sustainability topics such as particularly Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and climate change
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint with basic digital literacy
  • Ability to handle and interpret data
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Organisational skills, with ability to manage tasks and deadlines
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Knowledge or experience of GHG accounting and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculations and standards is desirable but not essential
  • Understanding or experience of chemical, agriculture, and/or pharmaceutical industries is desirable but not essential

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the development and maintenance of our PCF data and its supply to customers
  • Coordinating internal and external requests to the Life Sciences Sustainability team
  • Supporting the management and creation of internal and external resources and marketing material on sustainability topics
  • Conducting data and market analysis
  • The exact role and responsibilities may be adjusted depending on your experience and strengths.
