As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Rawcliffe Bridge. In this role, you will provide essential technical expertise to our mechanical engineering team and the wider site, ensuring the integrity and reliability of our assets while driving continuous improvement through sound engineering principles. We are looking for an energetic team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

For the avoidance of doubt, we are recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer preferably with design experience, not a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. Please note: Applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering with proven experience in heavy process industries (e.g., Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Chemical).

Design Proficiency:

  • Highly skilled in AutoCAD 2D/3D, with a focus on translating complex requirements into accurate technical models.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of pressure system standards (ASME B31.3, ASME VIII, PD5500) and UK legislation (PSSR/PESR 2016).

Problem Solving:

  • Experienced in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and failure analysis to drive long-term reliability.

Communication:

  • A natural relationship-builder able to bridge the gap between internal operations and external partners.

What You'll Be Doing:

You will join a team that values sustainability and innovation, playing a pivotal role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of our assets.

  • Plant Design: Manage the full design lifecycle from initial concept to construction. You will develop 3D piping and equipment models, integrate laser-scan data, and produce high-quality isometrics and GA drawings.
  • Plant Integrity: Collaborate across engineering functions to optimise plant reliability, operability, and safety.
  • Project Oversight: Lead small-scale projects through to commissioning and provide mechanical expertise for major capital investments (FEED and detailed design).
  • Operational Efficiency: Partner with maintenance teams to perform RCAs on equipment failures and implement engineering solutions that prevent recurrence.
  • Compliance & Change: Support Management of Change (MOC) activities, contribute to risk assessments, and help define site-wide mechanical and integrity standards.
