Overview

We are looking for an Industrial Placement Student to join our Skin Care Applications group at Cowick Hall, East Yorkshire for 12 months from August 2025, to work on research and development projects. You will develop new test methods for screening products across different areas of skin care, generate data, and incorporate products into formulations. The project work will be of sufficient academic complexity to meet the requirements of a university industrial placement degree course. You will be part of a team that values diversity, sustainability, and continuous innovation, where your ideas and contributions matter.

Responsibilities

  • Design and perform experiments related to personal care formulations.
  • Collect and review results independently and with a team.
  • Write technical reports for internal use.
  • Support new product launches and existing product ranges.

Qualifications

  • You should have good laboratory skills and be able to communicate effectively both in reports and verbally.
  • You will need to be a self-motivated individual with the ability to manage and plan your own workload.
  • Team work, attention to detail and good problem analysis skills are essential for this role.
  • You will have an A Level in Chemistry and be working towards a 2.1 in a Chemistry/Cosmetic Science/Biochemistry or related degree.
  • Previous work experience within the chemical industry is desirable but not essential.
