Transportation Driver 1 Full Time (Sunday - Thursday 9:30am - 6:00pm)
REQUIRED: Currently possess a valid North Carolina "CDL" (commercial driver's license/passenger endorsed).

Summary: Drives bus or van to transport residents over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule by performing the following duties:
- Provide transportation services when scheduled or on an emergency basis for residents.
- Maintain and facilitate a caring, compassionate and understanding relationship with residents.
- As required, fill vans and buses with gas, check oil level, maintain vehicles' cleanliness and advise their supervisor of any necessary preventative or scheduled maintenance needs.
- Report all unusual conditions, behaviors, and/or resident complaints to the appropriate nursing supervisor.
- Respond and react in a kind, polite and professional manner to the residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Protect any confidential information concerning residents, family and/or the organization.
- Adhere to all organizational, departmental, and transportation procedures in the performance of the position responsibilities.
- Learn and schedule daily transportation runs as directed.
- Clean the inside and outside of all vehicles when not on a scheduled trip.
- Attend organizational or departmental conferences and/or in-services as scheduled.
- Perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position, which will not significantly alter the job requirements.
- Have an acceptable driver record and report any changes in their driver's record to their supervisor.
- Follow all traffic signs and obey laws.
- Report damaged equipment, including vehicle, lift or safety system immediately to their supervisor.
- Conduct a vehicle maintenance audit/check to include various safety checks to include adequate fuel levels.
- Be registered and approved by the facility's insurance company.
- Interact courteously, tactfully and politely with managers, co-workers, residents, vendors or associates to preserve productivity and morale.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
