The Volunteer Trainee Programme provides an opportunity for enthusiastic young Christians to launch a career in the outdoors.

CMC Adventure is ideally located in North Wales with access to the mountains, crags, rivers and sea literally right on our doorstep. A first-class adventure environment to pursue outdoor interests and hone skills as an instructor. Join like-minded young people and jump start your outdoor career!

We offer several voluntary positions to committed Christians who want to develop a career in the outdoors whilst at the same time sharing their Christian faith with those who come to the centre. CMC has nearly sixty years of experience in running outdoor courses and prides itself on high standards.

Qualifications / Requirements

You do not need any qualifications to come as a Volunteer Trainee Instructor; however, some experience of outdoor adventurous activities will be an advantage. You need to know that you enjoy being in the outdoors and sharing it with others. A great many CMC trainees have gone on to have successful careers in outdoor education.

We offer as part of your training to volunteer at CMC Adventure:

  • Training and Assessment courses.
  • MLTUK Summer Mountain Leader award.
  • Rock Climbing Instructor award.
  • Paddle sport Safety and Rescue, Sea Kayak Award, Paddle Sport Instructor.
  • Rescue Emergency Care (REC) Outdoor First Aid.

It is also possible to gain RYA Power Boat Level 2, RYA Safety Boat and Sailing Level 1 and 2 if you are progressing well in your qualifications.
