We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor at CRL, a leading specialist contractor for concrete structures and buildings.
Location: Mitcham, CR4 4TU
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, DOE

Responsibilities:
- Providing management of all commercial aspects of the projects
- Assisting in the development of project budgets and forecasts
- Assisting with ensuring the governance and profitability of the projects
- Developing, managing and extending commercial relationships with the client and supply chain
- Subcontract management including placing of orders and payments
- Providing accurate commercial reporting to allow effective management of projects
- Interfacing with finance, project managements and planning functions
- Providing timely and accurate applications
- Ensuring timely contractual notices are issued in accordance with the contractual timeframes
- Producing final accounts statements for Clients and Supply Chain
- Carring out CVR and Contract Appraisals for individual schemes
- Preparing and estimating contractual changes and variations
- Providing support and advice to the project management teams on such matters as contract compliance, contract awareness, contract change management, claims, variations, legal and finance matters to do with both Clients and Subcontractors
- Preparing and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts
- Assisting with providing monthly commercial and finance reports for internal meetings
- Assisting with contract programming and planning
- Assisting HR & Training departments with onboarding & performance management of staff
- Promoting & encouraging innovation and value
- Motivating, coaching, encouraging, supporting, & providing guidance to other members of the commercial team
Qualifications & Experience:
- Understanding of commercial requirements on construction projects
- Working knowledge of main construction contract forms (NEC3, NEC4, JCT)
- Understanding of different methods of measurement (e.g., CRAMM, Highways)
- Fully conversant with modern office equipment and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong and accurate record-keeping skills
- High commercial awareness and financial acumen
- Strong organisational, written, verbal, numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Collaborative communicator with clients, supply chain partners and colleagues
- Ability to manage and mentor team members
- Significant construction industry experience in a similar commercial role
- Experience managing the commercial function on construction contracts
- Relevant degree, higher, advanced or foundation qualification
- Willingness to work towards a relevant professional qualification (desirable)
- Full UK driver's licence
