To help the continued growth of a leading provider of multi bid fleet management who provide tailored fleet management and full mobility solutions to corporate and international clients. Being independent of any leasing company, manufacturer, or dealer group their experts deliver fully tailored fleet management packages and impartial advice. This is a new business role targeting corporate customers with fleets of 300-1500+. Looking for someone who can nurture customers over a 12 months+ sales cycle. Potential long term opportunity to head the Sales team.

The successful applicant will be home based generating new fleet business from corporate customers across the UK and Internationally. This role is instrumental to the long-term success of the company and is highly visible within the organisation and as such demands an individual capable of exceeding on targets and consistently delivering excellent results. The Business Development Manager/Director is required to be self-motivated and is responsible for generating and securing new business through to growth using the branded prospecting experience. The prospecting experience covers many aspects to include all the standard solutions sold as a provider of fully outsourced Fleet Management all of which will be used and developed by the BDM in some form to achieve results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To grow the revenues of the business by securing new business and achieving sales targets, in terms of units and margin contribution.
  • Utilise and market the businesses sales initiatives and campaigns to ensure that targets are achieved and exceeded.
  • Identify and create your own opportunities from existing industry connections along with your own self generating sales activity.
  • Maintain accurate records on the CRM system and extract data and perform analysis (as required).
  • Using internal systems, and the agreed marketing portfolio to maximise impact to prospects to generate inbound interest.
  • Produce proposals and complete tenders.
  • Utilise RFP portals as required.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting prospect relationships founded on being a trusted advisor with a view to progressing to a customer.
  • Communicate with prospects and provide elements of added value to keep the company at the forefront of prospects considerations.
  • Agree and attend prospect meetings.
  • Provide a detailed overview of next steps agreed.
  • Engaging with all relevant internal support functions to generate support within the defined business area responsible.
  • Know and have relationships within your prospect portfolio and understand how decisions are made.

ATTITUDE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Enthusiastic with proven business development or other relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the fleet industry, knowledge of principles of fleet funding and all aspects of fleet management.
  • Customer and prospect facing, handling and negotiation experience.
  • Versatile, self-motivated, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and proactive, dedicated to delivering service excellence.
  • Proven ability to generate a strong pipeline of prospects through phone, referrals, client visits, direct mail, field-based prospecting, and networking.
  • Maintaining an active lead generation plan and pipeline.
  • Excellent selling skills, nurturing leads from introduction to close.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills, a powerful communicator with a strong service ethic and focus.
  • Strong strategic focus with a consultative approach.
  • The ability to work and succeed in international sales from a UK standpoint if required.
  • The ability to review, complete and take part in tender processes.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accurate record keeping abilities.
  • Comfortable negotiating across all internal and external levels including senior board level and an ability to communicate and work with all areas of the business.
  • Provide detailed sales forecasts, be happy to use systems and follow set processes as required.
  • Ability to prioritise workload without supervision and work on own initiative.
  • High standard of verbal and written communications skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willing to travel.
