Overview
Location: London & M4 corridor — Candidates ideally based within 2 hours of London or the M4 Corridor. The company delivers and maintains uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems for customers across the UK & Ireland. As a UPS Engineer, you\'ll commission new installations, carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on deployed assets, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and deliver basic end‑user training. You\'ll report to the Service Operations Manager and play a key role in ensuring uptime and excellent customer experience across diverse sites. Please note - from time to time, you will be required to work further afield across the UK & on rare occurrences Ireland.
Package
- Salary: £45,000-£52,000 (DOE) + Annual Bonus
- Working hours: 37.5 per week, Monday-Friday, with overtime available
- Car allowance provided
- Pension: 10% combined
- Annual leave: 25 days + 8 bank holidays (increasing with length of service)

- Training & development: Ongoing technical training, including time at international manufacturing facilities
- Overtime available - throughout the week and weekends at enhanced rates
- Emergency Call‑Out Rota - 1 in 8 weeks (only joining post-training) with a weekly on-call allowance
Responsibilities
- Commission new UPS installations on customer sites: apply installation & commissioning procedures, complete testing to method statements, and customise settings for the site environment
- Service and troubleshoot installed equipment - perform preventive maintenance and curative repairs; diagnose faults and restore service efficiently
- Maintain accurate records - update internal service systems/databases and keep precise spare‑parts stock information
- Customer & distributor enablement - run basic end‑user training sessions; liaise with customers and partners to build strong, long‑term relationships
- Continuous improvement - provide feedback on recurrent technical issues to the support team and collaborate with project/field teams to schedule and coordinate work
Requirements
- Technical degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent years of relevant experience)
- Proven, hands‑on experience commissioning, servicing and troubleshooting UPS systems (field service background ideal)
- Confident communicator with strong customer‑facing skills and a professional approach on site
- Organised and detail‑driven: comfortable completing service reports and updating internal tools accurately
- Mobile and flexible: willing to travel across the UK & Ireland and participate in the emergency call‑out rota after training
