Pump Engineer — Bridgend, Wales
About the company & role
The company is a fast‑growing leader in fluid, power and tool solutions across Europe, supporting construction, industrial, utilities and municipal customers. With an extensive depot network and a strong safety culture, the company delivers rental products and turnkey solutions designed for reliability and ease of use. You\’ll maintain and repair a fleet of fluid transfer equipment (diesel, electric and air‑driven pumps, tanks and filtration), support customers on site, and ensure equipment is delivered, installed, commissioned and de‑installed to high standards.
Package
- Basic salary: £35,000-£36,000 per annum
- Private Medical Cover
- Hours: 07:30-16:30, Monday to Friday (40 hours)
- Overtime: Opportunities available at 1.5× and 2× rates (including occasional weekends)
- Base location: Bridgend, Wales, with travel to customer sites across
- Travel: Occasional overnight stays depending on project needs
- Development: Full training and structured onboarding, with ongoing coaching and development
- Leave: 22 days holiday + bank holidays
Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical servicing, diagnostics and fault finding on diesel, electrical and air‑driven pumps.
- Deliver, install and de‑install pumps, filtration equipment and tanks at customer sites; commission equipment to spec.
- Hand over equipment to customers and provide clear instruction on correct and safe usage.
- Perform planned and reactive repairs and maintenance on rental equipment, ensuring swift turnaround.
- Monitor parts inventory and maintain minimum stock levels; provide guidance to other operations team members.
Requirements
- Technical background in mechanical and electrical maintenance; experience with fluid transfer processes and products.
- Competent driving with a trailer to deliver/collect equipment at customer sites; full UK Category B licence required.
- Experience in the plant/equipment hire industry is desirable; confident working at customer sites independently.
- Willingness to participate in an on‑call system and make occasional overnight trips.
- Strong oral and written communication; proactive, service‑oriented team player who is flexible and self‑motivated.
- IT literate; able to complete digital service records and documentation accurately.
