The company is now looking for a Health & Safety Manager to join its team in London.
This role will take responsibility for overseeing construction project health, safety, environmental, and risk management activity, supporting multiple safety programmes and helping to drive a strong safety-first culture across projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, contractors, subcontractors, clients, and senior leadership to ensure high standards of compliance, risk management, and operational safety are maintained.

Responsibilities
- Oversee health, safety, environmental, and risk management across construction projects.
- Develop, implement, and manage site-specific Construction Phase Plans and safety programmes.
- Lead and support the Operational Risk Management process, reviewing project scope, client requirements, drawings, statutory regulations, and safety management systems.
- Liaise with Principal Contractors, clients, project teams, contractors, and subcontractors on site conditions, non-compliance issues, mitigation measures, and safety requirements.
- Support the development of a strong health and safety culture, promoting positive safety behaviours across teams and subcontractors.
- Assist with health and safety training programmes, technical reports, site safety budgets, permits to work, and compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct and support incident investigations and reporting, including RIDDOR where applicable.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, guidance, and best practice.
- Coaching and supporting project teams to identify practical, effective solutions to health and safety challenges.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a health and safety role within construction, electrical, industrial, public sector, commercial, or critical infrastructure environments.
- 8+ years experience with GCSEs or equivalent
- 6+ years experience with HNC/HND or equivalent
- 2+ years experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of UK regulatory compliance, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, CDM Regulations 2015, and associated legislation.
- Professional health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma, or a degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Knowledge of safety management systems such as ISO 45001 and ISO 31000.
- Experience delivering health and safety training and supporting positive safety culture development.
- Willingness to work towards professional membership or accreditation such as TechIOSH, GradIOSH, or CMIOSH.
- Working knowledge of RAMS, safe systems of work, incident investigation techniques, HSE requirements, audits, workplace health surveillance, emergency arrangements, and first aid planning.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Flexible attitude to working and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
- Environmental and sustainability experience would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including SharePoint.
