Are you an experienced Diesel Generator Commissioning Engineer looking for a role with fantastic earning potential and a great work-life balance? This is a full-time, permanent position, ideal for a driven engineer who enjoys problem-solving and working on high-specification projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning a variety of HV/LV generation systems and associated equipment. The company is a growing provider of critical power systems, who give you the autonomy to carry out tasks as you feel fit and to suit your schedule (so long as it makes business sense). Therefore, this role would suit someone who is looking to make a difference to how the company operates and achieve the financial/progression that follows.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of HV/LV systems and associated equipment to verify alignment with project specifications
  • Carry out functional testing and commissioning of systems to validate performance
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to coordinate commissioning schedules
  • Diagnose and resolve issues encountered during the commissioning process
  • Produce detailed documentation, including test results, commissioning reports, and improvement recommendations
  • Deliver technical training and system handovers to operational teams
  • Perform generator controls upgrades/retrofits.

Requirements:

  • Strong engineering background with in-depth knowledge of diesel generator commissioning
  • Minimum qualification: Diploma of Higher Education in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of ComAp & DSE control systems is essential
  • Understanding of PLC/HMI control systems is an advantage
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communicator with the ability to liaise professionally across multiple stakeholders

Benefits:

  • Salary of £60,000 - £70,000
  • 40 hours per week, with regular overtime available (paid at 1.5x and 2x pay)
  • Door-to-door pay
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
