About the company & role

The company is a specialist generator systems engineering business with over two decades of experience delivering generator hire, installation, maintenance, load bank testing and wider power solutions across public and private sector sites. Due to continued growth, the company is now looking for an experienced BMS Controls Engineer to support projects involving the connection of generators and associated electrical equipment into BMS systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong controls engineer who understands electrical systems and control system integration.

Package

  • Basic salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum
  • 40 hour working week, Monday to Friday days with overtime available.
  • Overtime paid at enhanced rates: 1.5x and 2x
  • Company vehicle & fuel card provided
  • Ongoing technical training/development across generator systems, electrical equipment and BMS integration

Responsibilities

  • Connect generators and associated electrical equipment into BMS systems across a range of customer sites.
  • Carry out controls integration, testing and commissioning works to ensure systems operate safely, reliably and in line with project requirements.
  • Work with generator control panels, electrical distribution equipment and monitoring systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve BMS, controls and electrical interface issues during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Liaise with project teams, electrical engineers, site contacts and end clients to ensure works are completed to a high standard.
  • Produce clear updates, reports and technical feedback following site visits, commissioning works and fault-finding activity.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a BMS Controls Engineer, Controls Engineer, Commissioning Engineer or Electrical Controls Engineer.
  • Good understanding of BMS systems and how they interface with electrical plant and associated equipment.
  • Confident fault-finding, commissioning and testing controls/electrical systems on live customer sites.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and controls documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with internal teams, site engineers and customers.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Prior experience would be desirable in generator systems, critical power, electrical switchgear, control panels or similar electrical infrastructure.
