Overview
Senior Security Systems Consultant to own physical security systems across a major infrastructure programme. You will define technical requirements, manage interfaces between security systems and other railway disciplines, and ensure delivered designs meet operational and technical needs. You’ll drive interface control, risk management, and collaboration with project teams and external bodies. This role centers on CCTV, access control, intruder detection and PSIM at system scale within HS2. London-based with cross‑organisational engagement.

Responsibilities
- Develop technical requirements and specifications for physical security systems (CCTV, access control, intruder detection, PSIM)
- Create and maintain interface control documents; manage and update interfaces as the programme evolves
- Apply risk controls to interfaces; track and resolve emerging risks
- Assure contractor design/installation meets requirements; resolve issues where it does not
- Manage technical interfaces with external organisations (British Transport Police, Network Rail)
- Provide technical advice to colleagues and external stakeholders and support engineering and commercial issue resolution
- Coordinate with project teams and supply chain to ensure interfaces are understood, agreed and current
- Oversee lifecycle aspects from requirements development through to design assurance and construction oversight
Key requirements
- Background in physical and electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, intruder detection, PSIM) within a transport infrastructure programme or similar environment
- Experience on large, multi-disciplinary programmes with significant interface management
- Hands-on experience in developing technical requirements and specifications; managing interface control documents; applying risk management in projects
- Ability to communicate clearly with non-specialist colleagues, contractors and external stakeholders
- Working knowledge of CDM regulations or an equivalent safety management process
