A London Borough is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to support the Housing Choice & Applications Service, delivering an efficient housing register and allocations service to residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess housing applications and determine eligibility in line with the Housing Allocation Policy
- Provide housing advice and support to residents with housing needs
- Advertise and allocate Council and Housing Association properties through Choice Based Lettings
- Manage service enquiries and inboxes
- Make property offers and nominations within required timescales to minimise void loss
- Verify priority applicants prior to property offers
- Support decants from regeneration programmes and allocate suitable accommodation
Requirements:
- Previous Housing Officer experience within a local authority or social housing setting
- Experience working with housing registers, allocations or Choice Based Lettings systems
- Strong customer service and case management skills
