We're working with a major client delivering Britain's high-speed rail infrastructure programme, and we're recruiting a Quality Manager to provide leadership and support on quality across delivery teams and the supply chain. This is a quality assurance and improvement role.
You'll be responsible for instilling a right first-time ethos across the programme, monitoring supply chain compliance, conducting quality audits, and identifying trends and improvements. You'll work across multiple delivery teams as a quality subject matter expert, supporting project teams to deliver safe, efficient and compliant outcomes. You'll combine quality management expertise with the ability to influence without direct authority. You'll translate quality data into clear insights, drive improvement initiatives and help the supply chain understand and meet quality expectations. Your work ensures the programme delivers at the right standard, first time.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitor and report on supply chain compliance and performance against contracted standards and quality requirements
- Conduct quality audits across the supply chain, planning and coordinating with other functions within the project environment
- Identify trends and concerns through analysis of non-conformances and defects, ensuring root causes and preventative measures are identified and implemented
- Lead the implementation of the Get it Right Initiative to measure the cost of poor quality and drive improvement
- Promote knowledge sharing across delivery teams including lessons learned, best practices and high potential incidents
- Monitor right first-time acceptance rates and support improvement of document quality and submission standards
- Review and accept supply chain quality documents including Quality Management Plans and audit schedules
- Provide technical support and advice to delivery teams on quality matters, including key concerns and recommended actions
- Educate and train delivery teams and supply chain on quality processes and management information systems
- Support development of quality requirements and contribute to supplier selection and evaluation
What We’re Looking For
You're a quality professional with substantial experience developing and delivering against quality performance measurements. You have hands-on experience conducting operational audits and analysing quality data to identify trends, root causes and preventative actions. You've successfully delivered quality-focused projects and initiatives that have driven business improvement. You hold an IRCA approved ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification or equivalent. You have excellent influencing and negotiation skills, able to engage internal and external stakeholders without direct authority. You can interpret quality management standards and apply them to complex infrastructure projects. You're educated to degree, HND or HNC level, preferably in engineering or construction. You can produce clear quality performance reports that inform management decisions. You understand the relationship between project delivery risk, quality management and assurance. You're organised, can manage multiple priorities and deliver assurances to agreed deadlines.
