An experienced Interim Corporate Health and Safety Advisor is required to provide a competent and pragmatic advisory service across all Council departments.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver professional health and safety advice and support to services.
- Lead the development and implementation of the Council's Health and Safety Management System, policies, and procedures.
- Plan and conduct audits and inspections, reviewing documentation and working with managers to implement improvements.
- Promote a positive health, safety, and wellbeing culture and ensure compliance with legislation.
- Extensive experience providing health and safety advice in a large or multidisciplinary organisation.
- In-depth knowledge of current health and safety legislation and best practice.
- Proven ability to engage stakeholders and promote practical, proportionate safety solutions.
- Degree / NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Health and Safety (essential)
- IOSH membership (Cert IOSH or above) with ongoing CPD (essential)
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or strong CDM knowledge (essential)
- NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate and/or auditing qualification (desirable)
- Demonstrable competence in health and wellbeing initiatives, including stress and partnership working (essential)
