Bloomsbury Publishing is seeking an ambitious and creative Marketing Manager to join our London team, delivering standout campaigns across a broad list of bestselling and prize-winning fiction and non-fiction. Working closely with editors, publicists, sales teams and authors, you will devise and execute audience-focused campaigns that build readership, drive sales and strengthen Bloomsbury's reputation for publishing exceptional books.

The Role

  • Creating and delivering innovative marketing campaigns across print, digital, audio and live events
  • Developing tailored strategies for individual titles and authors
  • Managing campaign budgets and evaluating performance against key objectives
  • Working collaboratively with editorial, publicity, sales and rights colleagues to ensure integrated campaigns
  • Building and engaging communities of readers through social media, partnerships, and content marketing
  • Conceiving and overseeing marketing materials, advertising and creative assets
  • Using insight to identify new audiences and emerging opportunities to grow readership across both fiction and non-fiction

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Previous experience in book publishing, with proven experience working with established brands, platform authors and their respective teams
  • Equally comfortable working ideas-led non-fiction and literary fiction, combining creativity with strong commercial instincts
  • Creative vision with excellent negotiation and persuasion skills to see that vision through and bring everyone on the journey
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Strong digital and social media expertise
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments
  • A keen awareness of the literary and cultural landscape
  • Unmatched enthusiasm for connecting readers with outstanding authors and books

The role is a full-time, permanent position. Salary Range: £30,500 - £35,800 depending on experience. The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Monday & Tuesday.

Bloomsbury reserve the right to close the role early if we exceed the required number of applications. Hybrid working pattern of: 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).
