Black Graphite Architects is looking for a Part 2 architectural assistant or recently qualified Part 3 architect to join its expanding team in Surrey, UK. Following our recent rebrand from Crane & Associates, we are entering an exciting new phase of growth. Black Graphite Architects is an award-winning architecture studio based in Esher, Surrey. Since 1987, we have delivered thoughtful and carefully crafted architecture across the residential, commercial, community and heritage sectors. Our work is characterised by a commitment to design quality, technical excellence and close collaboration with our clients. We are particularly recognised for our high-end residential projects, ranging from substantial refurbishments and heritage restorations to bespoke new-build homes.
The role
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Part 2 architectural assistant or recently qualified architect (Part 3), local to Esher, to join our growing team. You will work closely with the directors and project architects across a range of high-end residential projects, with opportunities to contribute to commercial, community and heritage work. Depending on your experience and strengths, your responsibilities will vary, but you will be encouraged to develop across all aspects of architectural practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career within a supportive and growing studio. We are committed to helping team members develop their technical, design and project management skills, with increasing levels of responsibility as they progress.
What we’re looking for
- Strong design ability and attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for architecture and a desire to learn and develop
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a small team
- An understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction methods appropriate to their level of experience
- Experience preparing planning, tender or construction information appropriate to their stage of qualification
