SGS Design is an interior design studio based in Kent, creating considered, beautifully resolved spaces for residential and commercial clients. We’re looking for a technically accomplished Senior Interior Designer to join our team and take ownership of projects from initial concept through to completion.

The role

You’ll be a key creative and technical force in the studio — developing design concepts, producing detailed technical drawings, and managing projects with precision and care. You’ll work directly with clients, contractors, and suppliers to deliver spaces that are as well-executed as they are beautifully designed.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading interior design projects across residential and/or commercial sectors
  • Producing detailed CAD drawings including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details
  • Developing technical specifications for joinery, finishes, fixtures, and fittings
  • Creating design concepts, material palettes, and mood boards
  • Coordinating with architects, contractors, and specialist suppliers to ensure technical accuracy on site
  • Managing project documentation, schedules, and drawing packages through all RIBA stages
  • Conducting site visits and snagging to ensure delivery matches design intent

What we’re looking for:

  • Five plus years of interior design experience in a studio or practice environment
  • Expert-level AutoCAD skills — you produce clean, precise, fully detailed drawings
  • Proficiency in CAD, Rhino or equivalent modelling software
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite for presentations and visualisations
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, CDM requirements, and technical standards relevant to interiors
  • Meticulous approach to specifications, schedules, and project documentation
  • A portfolio demonstrating both strong design sensibility and technical depth
  • Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related discipline
