Blake Architects is hiring an experienced Part 2 architectural assistant or junior architect to join its team in Cirencester, UK. We are looking for a technically minded architectural assistant or architect, with a minimum of three years’ experience after Part 2, to join our team in a beautiful rural setting near Cheltenham. We seek an individual who shares our interest in rural architecture, sustainable design and high-quality detail.
About you
- You will be enthusiastic about detail design with an appetite to learn and ambition to grow your role in the practice.
- You will be comfortable working as part of a team and join in discussions to meaningfully contribute to the development of projects.
- You will be able to work as part of a wider professional team, engage professionally with clients and be confident working independently with ambition to learn how to run domestic jobs through all stages.
At Blake Architects, you will be embedded in many projects of various scales, from residential schemes for private clients to workplace and education schemes. Many of the projects we work on are conservation led and will involve listed buildings or adaptive reuse of barns and be in sensitive rural settings.
Required skills/experience
- CAD drawing skills, preferably Vectorworks
- Good understanding of sustainable design and detailing
- Experience of delivering technical designs and being on-site is favourable
- An open mind, willingness to learn and desire to take on challenges
- Able to work both independently and in a small team
- Organised mindset to ensure professional standards are maintained
