Original Field of Architecture is looking for a talented architect/project architect (ARB or near‑qualified) to join its growing Oxford studio. The practice works across some of the city’s most culturally significant sites, balancing sensitive heritage interventions with refined contemporary design. We are committed to sustainable design and climate-responsive decision-making.

The role

  • You’ll work closely with directors on projects set within complex historic contexts, contributing to design development across RIBA Stages 0–6.
  • The role includes:
  • leading and supporting design work from concept to delivery
  • contributing to conservation, decarbonisation, adaptive reuse and new‑build projects
  • coordinating consultants and engaging directly with clients
  • upholding design quality within a collaborative studio environment

Who we’re looking for

  • Ideal candidates will bring:
  • ARB registration, or be close to completing Part 3
  • three to eight years of UK experience
  • experience in heritage, conservation or sensitive contexts – or a strong interest in developing this specialism
  • confident communication and coordination skills
  • a thoughtful approach to design, detailing and team collaboration

Architects ready to step into project leadership or recently qualified Part 3 candidates are encouraged to apply.
