We are looking for a confident, hands-on Front Office Manager to lead our reception team and ensure every guest receives a professional, friendly and efficient service from arrival to departure. This is a busy operational role for someone who enjoys being visible, supporting their team and taking ownership of the guest experience and wider hotel standards.
The role
- Responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the front office operation, including:
- Leading, supporting and developing the reception team
- Overseeing check-ins, check-outs, room allocations, payments and guest requests
- Handling complaints professionally and finding practical solutions
- Planning rotas and ensuring the department is appropriately staffed
- Supporting the team during busy periods and covering front desk shifts when required
- Monitoring arrivals, departures, occupancy and daily operational priorities
- Inspecting guest rooms, public areas and hotel facilities to maintain high standards
- Working closely with housekeeping, maintenance and the wider hotel team
- Ensuring accurate handovers, reports, banking and guest records
- Supporting upselling opportunities and protecting hotel revenue
- Maintaining health, safety, security and company standards
- Deputising for the line manager when required
About you
- You will be organised, approachable and confident leading a team in a fast-paced hotel environment.
- You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in hotel reception, front office or guest services
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Experience working within a Marriott-branded hotel
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Confidence handling complaints and challenging situations
- Good attention to detail and commercial awareness
- Experience using hotel booking and front office systems
- A positive, practical and hands-on approach
- The ability to motivate, coach and support others
You must be flexible to work on a rota basis, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays, and have the right to work in the UK.
