We are seeking a highly experienced Lift Engineer to join our team and make an immediate impact. The role involves assessing our existing lift portfolio—primarily across residential sites—identifying opportunities for improvement, and providing expert technical recommendations. You will also be responsible for overseeing contractor performance and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed assessments of existing lift systems, identifying maintenance requirements, compliance issues, and areas for improvement.
- Provide expert technical recommendations to improve lift performance, reliability, and safety.
- Collaborate with contracted lift maintenance providers to ensure they meet service level agreements (SLAs) and deliver consistent, high-quality service.
- Review and assess current maintenance contracts to ensure best value for money.
- Support and oversee major lift refurbishments and modernisation projects.
- Ensure full compliance with UK legislation and industry standards (e.g., LOLER, EN81, British Standards).
- Act as the liaison with contractors for timely resolution of urgent lift-related issues.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in lift engineering across a range of suppliers, including MacPuarsa, Stannah, Kleemann, and Kollmorgen.
- Strong technical knowledge of lift systems, including diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance.
- Deep understanding of UK lift regulations, compliance frameworks, and health & safety legislation.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and make well-informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly desirable: NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Lift Engineering, LEIA membership.
- Highly desirable: Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
