Criterion Hospitality is a forward-thinking hotel operator with a dynamic and growing portfolio. With eight hotels currently in operation and two exciting new openings scheduled for this year, we are looking for an experienced and strategic BI Manager to lead and shape our data centric commercial culture.
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights across our hospitality operations. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining dashboards from multiple systems, ensuring data integrity, and fostering a data-centric culture. This role requires a highly autonomous and resourceful individual who can break down complex analytical challenges into simple, impactful solutions for stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dashboard Development: Design, build, and maintain intuitive dashboards and visualizations by integrating data from multiple hospitality systems (e.g., PMS, POS, CRM, Booking Engines, Revenue Management tools).
- Data Quality & Integrity: Ensure consistent, accurate, and timely data flow across systems. Develop processes for data validation, reconciliation, and anomaly detection.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, marketing, finance, and executive teams to understand data needs and translate them into analytical solutions that drive business outcomes.
- Insight Simplification: Distill complex datasets and analyses into easily digestible insights and recommendations, tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Culture Building: Champion a data-driven culture by promoting the use of BI tools, training users, and embedding analytics into daily business processes.
- Autonomy & Initiative: Take ownership of projects from inception to delivery. Identify new opportunities for analysis or efficiency independently.
- Performance Monitoring: Create and maintain performance reporting frameworks to track KPIs related to occupancy, guest satisfaction, revenue, and other core metrics.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a BI or analytics role, preferably within the hospitality or service sector.
- Proven experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
- Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation across various systems.
- Strong understanding of data modeling.
- Good communication and storytelling skills with a knack for simplifying technical insights.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively solve problems.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with hospitality-specific systems (e.g. Mews, FLYR, D-EDGE, IDeaS, Synxis, etc).
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
