Criterion Capital is seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to join our delivery team, working across high-quality city-centre hotel projects throughout the UK. This is a hands-on site leadership role, responsible for the successful delivery of mechanical building services from installation through to commissioning and handover.
As Mechanical Site Manager, you will take ownership of all mechanical services on site, coordinating subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to brand and quality standards expected on premium hospitality developments.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day mechanical site activities on hotel construction and refurbishment projects
- Coordinate mechanical works with the main contractor, consultants, and other trades
- Ensure installations align with drawings, specifications, and hotel brand requirements
- Drive programme performance and report progress at site meetings
- Lead mechanical health and safety on site in line with CDM and HSE regulations
- Prepare and manage RAMS
- Deliver toolbox talks and site safety briefings
- Ensure compliance with UK building regulations and relevant industry standards
- Inspect mechanical installations to ensure quality and technical compliance
- Manage snagging, defects, and close-out processes
- Coordinate commissioning activities and support final handover
- Liaise with commissioning engineers, consultants, and client teams
- Supervise mechanical operatives and subcontractors on site
- Plan labour and resources efficiently to meet programme demands
- Monitor productivity and resolve technical or coordination issues
- Support procurement of materials and plant
- Track progress against programme and budget
- Identify variations and assist with valuations
- Provide clear weekly progress reports to the project team
- HVAC systems including VRF, chilled water, AHUs, and FCUs
- Domestic hot and cold water services
- Associated plant and mechanical infrastructure
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager on hotel or complex commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of UK building services and compliance requirements
- Excellent coordination, leadership, and communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to site delivery
