Role Overview
We are looking for a practical, hands-on Multi-Skilled M&E Engineer to support planned and reactive maintenance across London Trocadero and a wider commercial portfolio. The role includes building services maintenance, life safety checks, and compliance support across critical landlord systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Fire & Life Safety Support (Critical)
- Routine testing of fire pumps (electric/diesel/jockey pump where applicable)
- Basic checks of sprinkler systems (valves, pressures, defects reporting)
- Weekly/monthly fire alarm testing (as per site schedule)
- Monthly emergency lighting functional tests
- Visual inspections of fire doors / signage / extinguishers (report defects)
- Support dry riser testing (access, escorting contractors, inlet identification)
- Carry out PPM and reactive repairs across landlord/common areas
- HVAC checks (AHU/FCU, extract fans, ventilation)
- Minor plumbing repairs and isolations
- Basic electrical fault finding (within competence)
- Lighting checks and minor repairs
- Roof drainage / gully clearance and reporting blockages
- Door checks and minor fabric repairs
- Record works and checks in logbooks / CAFM (with notes and photos)
- Raise defects with correct priority and escalation
- Support contractor works and ensures safe working (RAMS / PTW / isolations)
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in building services / FM / maintenance
- Strong multi-skilled M&E capability (mechanical + basic electrical)
- Confident with fire pump / sprinkler / fire alarm / emergency lighting checks
- Able to work independently and communicate clearly
Desirable (Not Essential)
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2/3 (Electrical or Mechanical)
- 18th Edition (if electrically biased)
- BMS / DALI awareness
- IPAF / PASMA / First Aid
