Criterion Capital are looking for a hands-on Fabric Engineer / Fabric Technician to support planned and reactive building fabric maintenance across London Trocadero and a wider commercial portfolio. The role will focus on repairs, presentation, snagging, inspections, and contractor support to keep landlord/common areas safe and in excellent condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned & Reactive Fabric Maintenance
  • General handyman/carpentry works (doors, frames, ironmongery, making good)
  • Minor repairs to walls, ceilings, flooring and finishes
  • Small painting and decorative touch-ups / patch repairs
  • Sealing, silicone works and minor snagging across landlord areas
  • Weekly building condition checks and defect reporting
  • Fire Door & Safety Support (Non-Certified)
  • Fire door checks and minor adjustments (closers, hinges, alignment)
  • Report defects and escalate any certified repairs/replacements
  • Minor Plumbing Support
  • Tap leaks, waste traps, small leaks and basic isolations (where safe)
  • Contractor Support & Reporting
  • Escort contractors and support access when required
  • Complete basic quality checks after works and ensure areas left safe/tidy
  • Record tasks with clear notes and photos in logbooks / CAFM

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in building maintenance / FM / fabric works
  • Strong practical skills and good workmanship standards
  • Able to work independently and manage priorities
  • Confident communicating with tenants / site teams professionally
  • Basic IT skills (Outlook / Excel / job logging)

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent trade qualification
  • Fire door awareness
  • Minor plumbing experience
  • UK driving licence (portfolio support)
