Talent Acquisition – Construction at Criterion Capital / Piccadilly Construction
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Construction Logistics Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all logistics activities on our construction sites. The ideal candidate will ensure that materials, equipment, and personnel are delivered and managed efficiently to support smooth construction operations, on-time project completion, and adherence to safety standards and company policies. You will be required to run a number of sites located in close proximity and manage additional resources as and when required.
Accountability
- Logistics Planning & Coordination:
- Develop and implement site logistics plans for all phases of construction.
- Coordinate the delivery and storage of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Schedule and manage vehicle access, crane operations, hoists, and deliveries.
- Material & Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to avoid material shortages or overstock.
- Manage unloading and proper storage of materials to prevent damage and loss.
- Implement systems to track materials used and optimize supply usage.
- Ensure delivery tickets are correctly recorded and returned to head office.
- Site Access & Traffic Control:
- Develop site access plans and ensure safe and efficient movement of vehicles and personnel.
- Supervise gate operations, pedestrian routes, and traffic control measures.
- Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure logistics operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards related to site logistics.
- Support site safety officer in implementing safety initiatives.
- Supervise logistics team members, labourers, and subcontractors as needed.
- Communicate regularly with site managers, contractors, and suppliers to align schedules and resolve logistical issues.
- Report on logistics activities, challenges, and solutions to project management.
- Organize proper disposal and recycling of construction waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with waste removal services and manage waste zones on-site.
- Ensure high levels of site house keeping are maintained.
- Implement site clean up notice procedure including the issuing of notices and following up with photographic evidence to ensure cost recovery
- Knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:
Knowledge
- A demonstrable understanding of logistics, construction processes and technology
- A proven track record of success in this role previously
- Excellent organisational skills
- Determination and single mindedness to ensure sites comply with company policy.
- An excellent understanding of relevant legislation including building regulations, H&S, CDM etc
- Knowledge and previous use of Procore
- Skills
- A ‘can –do’ attitude with a willingness to challenge conventional thinking. A pro-active, positive thinking, commercially minded approach with the ability to work at pace.
- Thorough, with attention to detail
- Analytical thinking skills
- Ability to work on multi projects and to tight deadlines
- Good English reading and writing skills
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role.
