We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sustainability Officer to join our team in the United Kingdom.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and monitoring sustainability initiatives across the organisation, ensuring compliance with both UK regulations and European Union (EU) sustainability standards.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of current environmental challenges, regulatory frameworks, and bestpractices in sustainable development within the UK and across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the organisation’s sustainability strategy, ensuring alignment with UK legislation and EU sustainability directives.
  • Lead compliance efforts with relevant UK and EU environmental regulations, such as the EU Green Deal, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and otherapplicable frameworks, when required.
  • Advise senior management and key stakeholders on sustainability risks, opportunities, and emerging trends, particularly those related to EU standards and international bestpractice.
  • Collaborate with internal & external teams to embed sustainability into operations, procurement, supply chain, and product/service development.
  • Prepare and review required sustainability reports, including non-financial disclosuresand sustainability performance metrics, in line with EU and UK requirements.
  • Organise training and awareness campaigns to promote a culture of sustainabilitythroughout the organisation.
  • Engage with external partners, regulatory bodies, and industry groups to stay abreast ofevolving sustainability requirements.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to this role where required.
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field. A relevant postgraduate qualification is desirable.
  • Proven experience in a sustainability-related role, ideally within the UK and withdemonstrable knowledge of EU sustainability standards.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable UK and EU environmental regulations, policies, and reporting frameworks
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and produce clear, actionable reports.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage adiverse range of stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
