Minimum 1-2 days per week on site in Leeds. We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Product Developer to join our editorial team in Leeds. As a Clinical Product Developer, you will play a crucial role in bridging clinical expertise and innovation. You will be involved at all stages of the development of new prosthetic and orthotic (P&O) products, from the ideation stage through to commercialisation. This role requires strong knowledge of P&O devices, alongside a passion for technology, innovation and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design: Apply a strong clinical background and understanding of custom-made P&O manufacturing processes. Apply clinical expertise to inform design decisions for biomechanical soundness, comfort, safety, and usability. Translate patient needs into user inputs and design outputs. Create structured feedback documentation to evaluate the success of designs. Work with cross‑functional teams to determine appropriate usability and functionality testing of emulate products. Stay informed about the latest advancements in 3D printing technology, materials and manufacturing processes, and provide clinical perspective on how these could improve clinical practice through innovation. Maintain regular two‑way communication between clinical teams, product development and manufacturing to capture insights and close feedback loops. Collate, interpret and present performance data gathered during the design.
  • Regulatory: Maintain and manage detailed records of clinical investigations. Contribute to accurate design documentation, regulatory records and technical files from a clinical standpoint, ensuring traceability files from user need to design output. Create clinical guidelines for new devices during the development phase and review and formalise these to create official Instructions for Use (IFU) documentation for product launch.
  • Project management and communication: Liaise with clinical teams in the creation and rollout of clinical investigations and related activities. Work closely with engineering, regulatory and manufacturing teams to deliver safe, effective and innovative devices. Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Communicate with the appropriate teams on ordering requirements for new products.
