In this role, you will develop your understanding of global security while supporting clients through a complex and challenging risk landscape. You will work as part of a Crisis24 Global Operations Centre (GOC), which serves as the operational hub for delivering services to our global clients. You should have an aptitude for providing clear security advice and practical assistance to clients in difficult situations. You must be able to manage a wide range of responsibilities, from routine monitoring to supporting complex emergency response and evacuation operations.

The role requires you to balance the efficient delivery of daily tasks with the ability to respond to and help resolve unexpected, complex events. This includes providing immediate support and advice to people affected by live security incidents. Central to the role is the ability to remain calm, clear, and effective under pressure; collaborate with a global team to deliver solutions in real time; and complete routine operational tasks with focus and accuracy. This position is ideal for professionals with experience in security and risk management who are looking to further develop their skills and deepen their expertise in an operational environment.

What You Will Work On

Crisis24 is seeking a Security Operations Specialist, Global Operations, to support live operations, proactive threat monitoring, and emergency response activities conducted across our ‘Follow the Sun’ network of Global Operations Centres, with centres based in Annapolis, Bournemouth, London, Konstanz and Singapore. This includes coordinating and overseeing global operations involving emergency safety support, evacuations, security, and protection tasks in high-risk and challenging locations; proactively monitoring threats to client personnel and assets worldwide; and compiling threat information and mitigation advice. The role holder works a nine-hour, ‘Follow the Sun’ day-shift pattern to support continuous 24/7/365 operations. You must be responsible, diligent, and composed under pressure, with high-quality written and verbal communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Travel Risk and Security Advice: Support research into and assessment of the threat environment for proposed tasks or travel, using a range of privileged and open-source platforms and research networks. Prepare, compile, and distribute travel security advice and risk assessments before or during client travel to higher-risk locations. Support the research and delivery of pre-travel briefings and presentations to a range of travellers, including expatriates preparing to deploy, academics, NGO personnel, corporate travellers, and C-suite executives. Provide briefings on current threats and associated risks and recommend appropriate safety measures. Monitor and respond to global travel security requests from deployed personnel, in-country travellers, clients, and on-the-ground security teams. Provide travel security and emergency advice, mitigation measures, and recommendations to travellers, clients, and organisational points of contact. Support the coordination of ad hoc travel security, secure transport, and protection tasks.
  • Threat Monitoring and Intelligence: Use open-source intelligence to proactively monitor the security situation in locations where client personnel and assets are located. Conduct regular checks to confirm the wellbeing of personnel. Use tracking platforms to monitor events and respond to notifications concerning personnel or assets at risk. Provide operational and tactical intelligence support, including location monitoring, information collation, and threat mapping, for live operations. Assist with research into and reviews of deteriorating security environments. Identify potential exit routes, transport hubs, relocation sites, and border crossings. Compile maps and supporting information to aid operational planning and preparation.
  • Incident, Crisis, and Emergency Response: Support security response and contingency planning. Keep Operations Management informed of escalating situations. Initiate mass communications and confirm the welfare status of affected personnel. Respond to major security incidents by providing immediate support and advice. Help to ensure the safety of potentially affected personnel and assets. Produce situation reports to maintain client awareness. Support the coordination and communication of security, evacuation, crisis, and emergency response tasks. Provide operational support to emergency evacuations and live crisis and incident response operations. Respond to Special Risks calls relating to kidnap, ransom, and extortion, gathering key information and promptly escalating the matter internally to the relevant specialist department.
  • Tracking and Communications Systems: Support the delivery of tracking solutions. Monitor and respond to system notifications and customer messages. Outside normal business hours, provide an initial response to activations and technical or operational issues. Maintain accurate records of communications, actions, and outcomes.
  • Reporting, Procedures, and Compliance: Support the compilation of post-operational reports for internal purposes, including lessons identified and learned. Contribute to external reporting requirements, including marketing materials and case studies where appropriate. Document and log relevant information in historical archives. Follow and adhere to Crisis24 security, response, and client standard operating procedures. Comply with company policies, with particular emphasis on information security and data protection. Maintain a strong working knowledge of Crisis24 services. Develop and retain a detailed understanding of Security Department services, procedures, systems, and client and partner relationships.
  • Team Support and Service Improvement: Provide day-to-day support and guidance to new frontline staff and Security Operations Specialists. Help to ensure consistency, competence, and efficiency in security-related response handling and operational tasks. Support the training, coaching, and mentoring of new starters. Participate in Global Operations Centre drills and exercises. Strive to deliver the highest standards of service to clients. Identify and contribute recommendations to improve performance, processes, and service delivery. Undertake ad hoc travel security, safety, and operational tasks, duties, and support activities as required by the Security Operations Manager.
