Familiarise yourself with their values—Bold, Impactful, Collaborative, and Equitable—and think about how your own experiences align with these principles. This will show your genuine interest in the role and the organisation.

Showcase Your Retail Experience

Be ready to discuss your previous retail or customer service experience in detail. Think of specific examples where you delivered excellent customer service or trained others. Highlight any challenges you faced and how you overcame them, as this will demonstrate your problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Prepare for Scenario Questions

Expect scenario-based questions that assess your ability to handle various situations in a shop environment. Practice responses to questions like how you would manage a difficult customer or support a volunteer. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers clearly.

Ask Thoughtful Questions

At the end of the interview, have a few thoughtful questions prepared. Ask about the team dynamics, opportunities for training, or how success is measured in the role. This not only shows your enthusiasm but also helps you gauge if the position is the right fit for you.
