Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to support and enhance the client's risk management framework for UCITS and alternative investment funds.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with UCITS and AIFMD regulatory requirements, overseeing investment and liquidity risk monitoring, and providing independent risk oversight across the firm's asset management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the risk management framework in accordance with UCITS and AIFMD regulations.
- Monitor and assess key investment risks, including market, liquidity, counterparty, concentration, leverage, and operational risks.
- Perform ongoing risk oversight of investment portfolios and ensure compliance with fund mandates, investment restrictions, and regulatory limits.
- Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis, and liquidity risk assessments.
- Review and challenge portfolio managers on risk exposures and investment strategies.
- Prepare risk reports for senior management, boards, regulators, and fund governance committees.
- Support regulatory filings, audits, and risk-related inquiries from regulators and investors.
- Monitor regulatory developments and recommend enhancements to risk policies, processes, and controls.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, Investment, and Product teams on new fund launches and investment initiatives.
- Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Risk Management, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in asset management risk management, preferably within UCITS and/or AIF environments.
- Strong knowledge of UCITS Directive, AIFMD, ESMA guidelines, and European fund regulations.
- Experience in market risk, liquidity risk, and investment risk methodologies.
- Proficiency with risk analytics tools and portfolio risk reporting platforms.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, or PRM are advantageous.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting Luxembourg, Irish, or other European-domiciled funds.
- Knowledge of derivative risk management, Va R methodologies, and leverage monitoring.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, international asset management environment.
