The Marketing & Communications Manager will manage the delivery of the firm’s marketing and communications activity during a period of maternity leave. This role is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day execution across PR, digital and campaigns, ensuring activity is aligned to agreed strategies and business priorities. The role combines hands‑on delivery with people and supplier management. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Marketing & Communications Manager, the wider BD & Marketing team, external agencies and senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted point of contact for marketing and communications activity across the firm.
Key responsibilities
- Media Relations and PR
- Manage the delivery of PR activity in line with agreed plans and messaging
- Draft and oversee press releases, media commentary and firm news for approval
- Work with BD colleagues and nominated spokespeople to identify and support proactive and reactive media opportunities
- Coordinate submissions to legal and professional services directories, awards and surveys
- Monitor media coverage and prepare regular performance and activity reports
- Identify and coordinate media training opportunities where required
- Campaigns and marketing activity
- Manage the execution of integrated marketing and communications campaigns
- Coordinate campaign activity across PR, digital, social, email and advertising channels
- Oversee firmwide advertising activity, including recruitment advertising and directory listings
- Manage day‑to‑day activity relating to sponsorships and partnerships
- Ensure campaigns are delivered on time and provide clear reporting on outcomes
- General and team contribution
- Work collaboratively with the BD & Marketing team to support firmwide objectives
- Ensure consistent application of the firm’s brand and tone of voice
- Monitor competitor and market activity and share relevant insights
- Act as a trusted point of contact for routine communications queries from the business
- Provide additional senior-level support to the marketing function as required during the maternity cover period

- Experience
- Proven experience in a marketing or communications role at senior executive or manager level
- Strong operational experience across PR, digital communications and campaign delivery
- Experience managing people and/or external agencies
- Professional services experience (ideally legal) desirable but not essential
- Excellent copywriting and editing skills with confidence working with senior stakeholders
- Technical experience
- CMS platforms (ideally WordPress)
- Social media management (organic and paid)
- Email marketing platforms and performance reporting
