We’re looking for a Post Completion Assistant to join our Real Estate team in Tunbridge Wells on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting our fee earners and clients across a range of important post-completion matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, detail-focused and keen to develop their technical knowledge within a busy Real Estate environment.

You’ll work closely with other members of the Real Estate teams and have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of areas including SDLT, Land Registry applications and post-completion processes.

You’ll be joining a collaborative team where there is plenty of scope to build your skills and take on increasing responsibility as your knowledge develops.

What you'll be doing

Your responsibilities will include

  • Developing your knowledge of SDLT procedures and, following training, completing electronic SDLT Returns to HMRC.
  • Preparing SDLT payment forms and arranging finance forms for partner approval.
  • Training in Land Registry applications, including E-DSR, and progressing to submitting straightforward applications.
  • Managing key dates and maintaining spreadsheets to track file progress.
  • Supporting Residential and RID files.
  • Preparing and sending post-completion financial statements to clients and, over time, dealing with residual balances.
  • Preparing and serving notices to landlords where required.
  • Submitting NHBC acceptance forms online.
  • Keeping clients and mortgage lenders informed when registration has been completed and providing documentation in line with their requirements.
  • Responding to post-completion client enquiries.
  • Checking accounts and files prior to closure, closing files and updating the CMS.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring post-completion matters are progressed efficiently.
  • Working closely with the Real Estate teams and understanding the different post-completion requirements across the department.
