Our accountancy practice client is recruiting for an ambitious Part Qualified ACA Auditor to join the team at the firm’s City of London office. The role will be based in the firm’s Non-Profit team, therefore, previous non-profit/not for profit, schools and charities audit experience is required. This is a very successful firm that is enjoying a phase of continued growth and expansion and is looking to build the team with someone who is nearing ACA qualification. The role will offer career progression and the opportunity to gain experience across a range of accountancy disciplines, and working on a variety of charity, education and trade association and corporate clients. This role will be audit focused while getting exposure to wider business advisory work.

As Part Qualified ACA Auditor your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting audit fieldwork on behalf of a wide variety of non-profit clients, with support from the wider audit team
  • Drafting recommendations for improvements to clients’ financial systems and controls
  • Attending client meetings with the wider team
  • Assist in planning audits, including reviewing prior year information and preparing lead schedules
  • Prepare financial statements in line with relevant standards and legal requirements
  • Draft corporation tax computations and support tax-related audit procedures
  • Support the preparation of audit close-out meeting materials and discussion points
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, including technical and tax departments
  • Help manage client expectations and meet deadlines throughout the audit process
  • Maintaining knowledge of all relevant ISA requirements and the firm’s internal policies in producing audit files
  • Demonstrating a solid understanding of double entry accounting/bookkeeping
  • Working with other trainees to deliver assignments and assisting them with their personal development

You will be working directly with Partners, Directors, and Managers, providing client focused and commercially aware services in an efficient and professional manner. Additionally, you will actively promote and market the firm and its services, to attract new clients and retain and develop relationships with existing clients.

  • Currently studying towards the ICAEW ACA qualification, having completed at least all certificate level papers with no more than three failures, or be AAT Level 4 qualified
  • At least 1 year of audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice is mandatory, with experience of working with non-profit clients
  • Be technically competent and able to demonstrate a clear understanding of audit testing and approach when assisting the audit team across a wide range of sectors
  • Experience of Pro-audit, CaseWare, CCH Accounts Production, Xero accounting, QuickBooks and Alphatax, Office 365 would be desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
