Job Description Audit Senior \ N Banbury | £45,000- £55,000 \ N I'm working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Banbury that is looking for an Audit Senior to strengthen its audit team. \ N I met with the firm recently and what stood out about this opportunity is the gap they're specifically looking for this person to fill. You'll sit directly beneath the Audit Director, with trainees and developing auditors working below you. \ N That means genuine responsibility. You'll be trusted to lead assignments, work closely with clients and become an important point of contact for junior members of the team, without stepping into a heavily managerial position. \ N The role \ N You'll work across a varied portfolio of clients and take responsibility for audits from planning through to completion. \ N Your responsibilities willinclude: \ N \n Planning, scopingand delivering audit assignments \ N Taking ownership of audits for more complex clients \ N Identifying key business and audit risks \ N Reviewing and testing internal controls \ N Managing fieldwork andensuring assignments meet agreed deadlines \ N Liaising directly withclients throughout the audit process \ N Discussing findings andrecommendations with clients and senior colleagues \ N Preparing clear and accurate audit reports \ N Supporting and developing trainees and junior team members \ N Working directly with the Audit Director \ N Getting involved in wider accounts and advisory work where appropriate \ N \n Who they're looking for \ N Ideally, you'll be ACA or ACCA qualified with solid audit experience gained within an accountancy practice. \ N However, qualification isn't everything here. If you're QBE with substantial audit experience and can demonstrate that you're already operating at Senior level, they are very happy to consider you. \ N You'll need to be someonewho can take ownership of your work while still being approachable and collaborative. They want somebody confident enough to contribute ideas and support the people around them, rather than someone who simply keeps their head down and clears files. \ N Experience with charities, accounts preparation, FRS 102, Caseware or CCH would all be useful, but they aren't looking for somebody who ticks every box on a job description. \ N Why consider it? \ N One of the strongest things I took away from meeting the firm is that their Directors trained there . Progression isn't something they've added to an advert because it sounds good - there are people in the business who have genuinely made that journey. \ N There's also a structuredprofessional development framework once qualified, giving you clarity around what you need to achieve to progress. \ N The culture is supportiveand sociable, with a genuinely mixed team in Banbury and plenty going on outside the day job, including firm-wide events, wellbeing activities and regular socials. \ N The firm also takes a flexible approach to people's longer-term careers. As your interests develop, there's scope to shape your role rather than being forced down one predetermined route. \ N Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience \ N If you're an Audit Senioraround Banbury, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire or the surrounding area and want to find out more, get in touch for a confidential conversation. \ N ________ \n As an employer, we are committed to ensuring the representation of people from all backgrounds regardless of their gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, age, neurodiversity, disability status, or any other aspect which makes them unique. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to apply and would encourage you to let us know if there are steps, we can take to ensure that your recruitment process enables you to present yourself in a way that makes you comfortable.
