Technician at Meadow High School, a special needs school serving students aged 11-19 with moderate and complex needs, including challenging behaviour and autism. We are opening a new site at Northwood Road (Harefield Village) which will host up to 100 Pathway 1 pupils. The Technician will work alongside teachers, support pupils' learning environment, supervise and support pupils during pre-prepared work and play/unstructured times, and engage with students using Signalong and Team Teach training provided.
Contract Details
- Contract type: Permanent
- Location: Northwood Road (Harefield Village)
- Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 08:30am - 3:30pm
- Work pattern: 32.5 hours per week; Term time + 5 training days (39 weeks)
- Salary: Scale 4, £23,592 - £24,623 per annum (dependent upon experience) + Salary Supplementary Allowance, £1,198 per annum
- Start date: September 2026
Responsibilities
- The Technician will support the learning environment, supervise students, and assist with pupils' educational and personal development. Duties include:
- Supporting teachers and contributing to the learning environment for secondary aged students.
- Supervising and supporting pupils during play/unstructured times.
- Using Signalong and Team Teach. (Training provided)
- Maintaining a high standard of written and spoken English.
- Driving the school minibus (training provided for willing applicants).
Qualifications & Skills
- NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants.
- Sound knowledge of Literacy and Numeracy.
- ICT literate – able to learn assessment systems and enter data.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent time management, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
- Commitment to health and safety training initiatives.
- Desire to work with students with moderate and complex learning difficulties.
- Enthusiasm for supporting children and their learning.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
