John Locke Academy is an outstanding school looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and inspirational Teaching Assistant to support our children. We are a positive, creative, and forward‑thinking team of professionals. The academy is part of The Elliot Foundation Trust, a successful multi‑academy trust specialising in primary education.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide support for pupils and Teachers in Nursery and Reception.
- Support children’s learning programmes within the class.
- Lead groups and may include some lunchtime cover.
In order to count within the ratios at level 3, the candidate must hold an early years qualification which is approved as full and relevant by the DfE approved level 3.
Additional responsibilities:
- Establishing a supportive relationship with the children and their parents, acting as a role model, and being aware of, and responding appropriately to, individual needs.
- Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children.
- Developing methods of promoting/reinforcing children's self-esteem.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Level 3 early years qualification approved by the DfE.
- GCSE English or level 2 equivalent.
- Paediatric first aid certificate.
