Are you an organised, detail-focused and proactive Exams Officer, ready to lead and manage the school’s external examination process and key elements of internal assessments?
Key Responsibilities- Lead and administer all external examinations and significant internal assessments.
- Manage exam entries, results, reviews of marking and coursework/NEA submissions.
- Ensure full compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations.
- Recruit, train and manage a team of invigilators.
- Oversee secure handling and storage of exam materials.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents and external agencies.
- Manage the examinations budget and associated expenditure.
- Some experience of exams work in an educational setting.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and Word (experience with Arbor advantageous).
- The ability to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work longer hours during peak exam periods (balanced by time off during quiet times).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in an administrative or school environment (desirable).
We are offering this role on an 'annualised hours' basis, up to 1146 worked hours per academic year. While this equates to approximately 30 hours per week on a term-time basis (plus additional hours during school holidays), the actual working pattern will be flexible, with longer hours during peak times and the ability to work reduced hours during quieter periods.
