Spectrum Scale and Unix experience is essential for this role. An IBM Storage Engineer is required for a project that Crimson has recently been asked to support. As part of this project, Crimson requires a contractor who is able to provide technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents or problems, escalating to Senior Engineers as necessary.
Responsibilities include:
- Completing tasks to high standards within established timeframes and with minimal supervision.
- Proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Supporting team members by offering guidance and assistance.
Key skills and responsibilities:
- Experienced with storage solutions and IBM Flash Systems, including Global Mirror, Metro Mirror, and Change Volumes replication.
- Spectrum Scale and Unix experience.
- Skilled in managing clusters and protocols (GPFS, NFS, SMB) within Spectrum Scale, Oracle, and ESXi, especially in active-active setups.
- Knowledgeable about GKLM/SKLM key management.
- Understands operational impacts on system availability.
- Proficient in IBM storage provisioning and redaction.
- Experienced with Linux command line and ServiceNow ticketing.
