The Kingshouse Hotel is part landmark hotel, part adventurer’s bunkhouse – slap-bang in Glencoe and on Scotland’s world-famous West Highland Way. We have 57 bedrooms offering a great night’s sleep plus the bunkhouse offering shared rooms, a restaurant and two bars. Everyone is welcome and everyone will feel at home.

About the role: As Sous Chef, you’ll be second-in-command in the kitchen — helping to lead, train, and motivate the brigade. You’ll play a key role in maintaining consistency and quality, ensuring dishes are delivered to the highest standard and in line with portion and presentation guidelines. You’ll be a strong communicator and supportive mentor, helping to develop junior chefs and step confidently into the Head Chef’s shoes when needed. You’ll also work closely with our front‑of‑house team to ensure a seamless and memorable experience for every guest. This is a full time, permanent position, with accommodation available if required.
What we need from you:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a similar 4 or 5-star setting
- Leadership – confident managing a team, leading by example, and building positive kitchen culture
- Passion for food – especially Scottish produce and creative, seasonal menu development
- Commercial awareness – strong understanding of GP, cost control, and budgeting
- Attention to standards – up‑to‑date knowledge of food safety and health & safety requirements
- Creativity and flair – you’ll bring ideas, energy, and individuality to your dishes
