Crieff Hydro Hotel is set in a 900-acre estate in stunning Perthshire. Home from home, we have 215 hotel bedrooms, 55 self-catering lodges, six restaurants and over 60 onsite activities – there really is something for everyone! We also have a major childcare facility and a dozen conference rooms, allowing us to undertake a big wedding programme as well as regular meetings and events for up to 600 people.
Who we’re looking for? We’re interested in hearing from aspiring Director of Food and Beverage candidates who are ready to step into a big role like this and also aspiring to be part of a wider senior team. Your excellent leadership skills, commercial drive, passion and personal gravitas must fit with our business’s unique history, culture, and customer offer. This role is a stepping stone for hospitality enthusiasts looking to become a General Manager in the future. You will combine commerciality with a commitment to delivering great customer experience, lead, motivate, coach and engage the team, and be comfortable with being highly visible and hands-on.
Key Responsibilities for the Role:
- Report directly to and work closely with the General Manager.
- Recruit, develop and motivate the right managers, team leaders and team members within the Resort Operation, driving both customer and team member experience.
- Deliver and develop the customer offer in line with the Crieff Hydro brand and story, and work within family-wide supply-chain and operating standards/procedures.
- Manage and develop key managers who report to you, including the Executive Head Chef, the Private Dining and Events Manager and the Head of Food and Beverage.
- Drive secondary spend and further improve customer experience to increase repeat guest numbers and other relevant revenue metrics.
What we’re looking for from you?
- You’ve several years’ experience as a head of Food and Beverage Manager or in a senior management role at a relevant scale/complexity, ideally in the independent and/or leisure/resort sector.
- You’re highly self-aware and able to articulate why you are highly regarded by your team, peers and customers, and how you use relationship-building and 360 communication skills to lead.
- You’ve had responsibility to P&L level and are involved in all aspects of financial management, from budgeting through analysis, risk and opportunity, with well-developed IT skills.
- You possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and work within a team, motivate people to deliver great performance, and develop and coach people within performance frameworks.
- You understand current issues affecting Scottish tourism and the resort sector, including changing demographics, customer and employee trends, and the social and economic environment.
- You oversee the whole food and beverage operation with the Executive Head Chef, the Private Dining and Events Manager and the Head of Food and Beverage reporting to you.
