You will play a vital role in creating and delivering a stimulating, engaging, and challenging curriculum for our children whilst ensuring a safe and nurturing environment where every child feels valued.

Cricklade Manor Nursery is a warm, friendly, and kind place where children from 3 months to 5 years flourish. Our classrooms offer a world of opportunity that are a home away from home. We provide affordable, high quality learning and adventures through year round care from 7:30am to 6:00pm. The children's favourite part of our nursery is our walled garden. They love exploring the wide open greenery, watching our chickens and exploring our dedicated Forest School, which we use come rain or shine. Located conveniently near Swindon and Cirencester, we offer excellent teaching and care for our children. As a member of our team, you are essential to our daily life. You'll be helping us create a warm and caring environment full of curiosity and exploration across the whole nursery including our newest additions in the baby room.

Hours, Salary & Benefits:

  • Hours: Full time or part time roles. Permanent role, year round or term time. 7:30am - 6pm, Mon - Fri
  • Salary: £13.25 - £13.45 ph / £27,560.00 - £27,976.00 pa

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reporting into: Nursery Manager/Deputy Manager, you will be expected to:
    • Plan and deliver a range of age appropriate activities focusing on each individual child’s interests
    • Maintain the children's development, progress & observation records with the support of the Room Leader
    • To develop and maintain good relationships and communications with parents/guardians to fully integrate the children into the Nursery
    • Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and welfare for every single child in your care.
    • Actively contribute to the Cricklade Manor Team, engaging in planning, meetings, training and events.

Person Specification:

Essential Skills:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or willingness to complete this funded qualification.
  • Interest in caring for, or working with children aged 0-5
  • A confident communicator with excellent listening skills
  • A passion for delivering fun and creative activities suitable for early education
  • A positive, hard-working, can-do attitude
  • A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training opportunities
  • Willing to develop imaginative ideas
  • Enthusiastic about the benefits of learning outdoors
  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues and confidential information
  • Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the Nursery’s ethos is fulfilled
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside of normal working hours (Parent Open Days)

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience working in an early years setting, ideally with knowledge across the full age range (3 months to 5 years)
  • An understanding of the EYFS and child development stages.
  • Working knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, child protection and child development
  • Experience or an understanding of key worker principles and experience of recording and observations
  • Knowledge of the National Standards for the regulation of childcare provision
