To provide world class Sports Psychology support to England Women's Cricket. Against a backdrop of rapid growth of the women's professional game, this post will cover an exciting time period for England Women as they set to continue their strong recent form across winter and summer tours, including The Ashes in Australia.

England Women operate a decentralised programme, so it is anticipated that this role will include some delivery on camp at Loughborough and some flexible remote working, with some touring with the team both domestically and internationally. Potential tour dates will be discussed at interview.

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Provide sport psychology support to England Women contracted players, including during both winter and summer tours. The touring commitments are varied and this individual will not be expected to be present on all tours at all times.
  • Deliver on a robust and appropriate Sports Psychology strategy for England Women that meets the needs of the system, team and individuals within it.
  • Work within the England Women’s Performance team to contribute to and deliver player development plans, and support the delivery of a psychologically informed environment, in line with the overall performance strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with England Women’s Sport Science & Medicine team to ensure players receive optimal levels of support.
  • Contribute to and work closely with England Women’s Wellbeing team (including Doctors, specialist Mental Health, Safeguarding and Personal Development and Welfare practitioners) to ensure appropriate mental health and wellbeing support is delivered.
  • Work with the wider MDT in relation to the planning and delivery of any cultural work.

YOU’LL HAVE

  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Status and/or Qualification in Sport & Exercise Psychology (QSEP) Stage 2, or British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) Sport and Exercise Psychology Accreditation Route (SEPAR) (or equivalent).
  • Undergraduate degree in Psychology, Sport Psychology or Sports Science (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience leading the provision of sport psychology services to elite athletes.
  • Extensive experience of working within elite team sport, including experience of supporting teams at major international tournaments and events.
  • Significant experience delivering both group and individual work.
  • Significant experience of working with coaches to support performance, including shaping the creation of psychologically informed environments.
  • Significant experience of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team, and/or within a wellbeing forum, to deliver impactful psychological support.
  • Significant experience of stakeholder management and influencing others.
  • High standards of personal and professional integrity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to think on your feet and respond to rapidly evolving situations.
  • Full Driving License.
  • Enhanced DBS.
  • Previous experience of working in cricket and/or women’s team sport.
  • Trained in the delivery of psychology profiling, for example Spotlight.
